Bruce Wilson, Selectman


  • Current Position – Selectman 

  • Former Member of Madison Board of Education serving as Policy Chair

  • Successful Connecticut business leader with a people forward philosophy and commitment to building a culture of common goals utilizing blended strengths to achieve desired results

  • Former CEO, COO, and Corporate Director who has been responsible for large and small businesses in multiple industries

  • Appointed or elected volunteer in Madison serving for more than a decade on numerous boards and commissions, including Rockland Preserve Commission



  • Graduate of Daniel Hand, Class of 1982

  • Returned to Madison in 1992 with his wife, Elizabeth, to raise their family here 

  • Knows firsthand how important education is to Madison parents because he and his three children all attended Madison Public Schools

“Madison was my home as a child and I returned in 1992 to raise my family here. As a young father, I trusted the dedicated volunteers in town government to keep Madison strong and safe. For the last ten years, it has been my great honor to be one of those volunteers. My professional career and past town service have prepared me well to help navigate Madison forward into the future as your next First Selectman.”

    • CT General Assembly Member of Education Committee, Appropriations Committee, Energy Committee, and Children’s Committee

  •  Former member of CT Commission for Community Service, appointed by        Governor Rell 

  • Served on Madison Board of Selectmen for 14 years

    • Played key roles forming Energy Committee, Ethics Study Committee, and Long Term Capital program as well as the acquisition of Rockland Preserve

  • Past service as a leader and member of many local boards and committees including: Chairman, Beach and Recreation Commission

  • President Madison Youth Lacrosse, Founder of girl’s lacrosse program

All during my 25 years of public service, I have followed the advice of one of my heroes, the late Governor Ella Grasso who taught me that ‘government must be honest, available and responsive.’ I’m proud to have lived up to that and will continue to. It’s time for coming together and putting Madison first.”



Joe Bunovsky


  • Current Madison Planning and Zoning Commissioner 

  • Served for over 10 years in this role, where he is careful to interpret zoning decisions as per town ordinances

  • Independent sales and marketing consultant with 25 years of experience

  • Small business owner and entrepreneur in Madison -  event production specialist

  • Previous Position – Vice President of Sales of BCB Group

  • Combining these skill sets allows for extremely versatile interpersonal communications


  • Raised in Madison - Daniel Hand Graduate 1983

  • Proud father of four children, all of whom went through the Madison School System

  • When not working on some entrepreneurial endeavor, he enjoys all the beauty Madison has to offer outdoors, boating, hiking, sailing, or kayaking

  • Avid hobbyist with a passion for woodworking and carpentry

“My family moved to Madison in the 1970s to provide better schools and opportunities for my sister and me. Fast forward many years and all of my four children are now DHHS graduates. For the past 10+ years, I’ve donated my time to various boards and commissions in town. My ultimate goal is to give back to a town that has given so much to two generations of my family.”

Jean Fitzgerald, Current Chair, BOF


  • Current Position – Chair Madison Board of Finance 

    • Served for the past four years 

    • Focused on budget forecasting and protecting capital funding

  • Reduced reliance on unpredictable state funding 

  • Balanced community needs with financial instability during Covid 

  • Served on Madison Board of Education for eight years 

    • Chairman for last two years

    • Finance Committee Chair

    • Planning Committee Chair 

  • Supported the reconfiguration of the school district with a saving for taxpayers

  • Proposed financially responsible budgets each year despite fluctuations in health care costs and state funding

  • Former Chair of Madison Capital Improvement Program

  • She and her husband, Tim, have lived in Madison since 2003

  • Current Position - Madison Board of Education

    • Chair of the Finance and Policy committees 

    • Member of the Personnel, Facilities, and Curriculum committees

  • Manages Strategic Partnerships for Updater, a technology company, where she drives strategy and revenue growth

  • Her 20-year career in the telecom industry has spanned sales, marketing and strategy roles, where she was responsible for all aspects of planning, budgeting and managing multi-million dollar P&Ls



  • Active volunteer with Special Olympics of Southern Connecticut

  • Former Co-President of Jeffrey School PTO, founded Science Palooza 

  • Former Member PRC for Madison Public Schools

  • Current President – Ryerson PTO

  • Oversaw a successful Touch-a-Truck event, scholarship fund, and support for local businesses

  • Former outreach athletic trainer at the University of Maryland Medical System, where she supported the Public Schools system

  • Moved to Madison after a visit with cousins 25 years ago, fell in love, and have been a resident ever since

“Children have always been the center of my life. As the mother of five children and grandparent of ten, I have always been involved in the schools. As a registered nurse for the past 50 years, I have worked locally in three pediatric offices and as a school nurse in upstate NY, Madison schools, and recently, Guilford High School. The physical and mental well-being of my students, patients, and their families has always been my main concern, especially during these tenuous times. I promise if elected I will do everything in my power to advocate for our children.”

  • Current Position – Madison Board of Education

  • Served on the East Haven Board of Education for eight years

    • Finance Director and Vice-Chair

  • Focused on improving the school system and creating transparent, seamless financial, education data, and bidding procedures to ensure that monies were spent appropriately, timely and in turn the results of such expenditures resulted in positive growth for the entire district and the students

  • Business owner of accounting/bookkeeping firm

  • Real estate sales associate with Coldwell Banker, Madison


  • Lives in Madison with her husband, Anthony, and their three children

  • Youngest daughter a sophomore at Daniel Hand

Ernie Lacore


  • Former Chairman of Economic Development Commission.

  • Served as a member of Conservation and Inland-Wetlands Commissions.

  • Years of experience in State and municipal government employee benefits and retirement plans.

  • Managed real estate assets held in Trust for a national bank’s northeast clients.

  • Financial counselor to Connecticut’s Joint Force Military Command serving the Air and Army National Guard Servicemembers and their families.

  • Ernie served in the US Army’s 26th Infantry Scout Dogs.

  • Ernie received his BA in Economics from American International College

  • Professional designation CLU in Estate Planning and ChFC in Financial

  • Consultancy from the American College


  • Ernie resides with his wife, Dragana with their Springer Spaniel, Cooper.

  • Ernie is passionate to continually seek improvement in the spectrum of the quality

  • of life for Madison residents while also being fiscally responsible to our community taxpayers.

  • Served on the Madison Ambulance Association Board of Directors for 26 years, many as an officer

  • Previously owned a home inspection business, conducting over 5,000 inspections, as well as an automotive factory-authorized service center


  • Resident of Madison for over 45 years

  • Proud husband, father of three daughters, and grandfather of six grandchildren
